Features of Teknik Ergonomic Office Chairs

Adjustable Seat height and Swivel

All Teknik office chairs are height adjustable allowing you to adjust the height to  place your feet flat on the floor or in the case of the Draughter range onto a foot ring, which is essential for knee and back health, allowing the pressure to be taken off your lower spine.

All Teknik chairs also swivel to allow you to reach for papers and your phone without twisting.

Seat tilt

All Teknik ErgoPlus chairs and the Ergo Blaster Deluxe medium backed chair have a seat that can be tilted which allows for correct positioning of the pelvis. A forward tilt of the pelvis  affects almost everyone who sits a lot and this can lead to lower back pain, so it’s important to keep the pelvis neutral position when sitting, with 80-degree angles at the hips, knees and ankles.

Backrest Lumbar support

Lower back pain is one of the biggest causes of long term sickness and a common ailment amongst those who work at a desk for long periods. Proper lumbar support (support for the lower spine)  is essential.

The ErgoPlus chairs and the Ergo Blaster Deluxe Draughter chairs support the natural ‘S’ shape of the spine, which prevents slumping and reduces stress on the spine and the pelvis.

Backrest recline

All our Teknik ErgoPlus chairs have an adjustable backrest to allow you to move the backrest to more specifically support your own natural spine position, allowing the backrest to take some of the weight from your upper body, reducing the pressure on your spinal disks and muscles.

Armrests

Not all Teknik chairs have armrests and this is because they aren’t right for everyone. If you spend long periods at your desk armrests should be considered, depending on the type of work you do and your personal habits. Armrests allow you to relax your shoulders, and tense shoulders lead to shoulder and neck pain and headache. However, you should not rest your arms on the armrests when typing as this reduces overall arm movement and therefore  increases wrist movement leading to forearm muscle strain

Headrest

Another important consideration if you work at a desk for long periods. A headrest supports the back of the head and the upper neck, reducing tension in the shoulders and upper torso.
